ANAMBRA AG URGES LAW OFFICERS TO ADHERE TO PIVOTAL ROLES IN DISPENSATION OF JUSTICE

Awka, Sept.19, 2019 (MOI) Anambra State law officers have been urged to place pivotal roles in the administration and dispensation of justice.
Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Uju Nwogu made the call during 2-Day workshop held at Head of Service conference hall, Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
The workshop with Theme: ``Brief – Writing Master Class’’ was aimed at sharpening law officers’ analytical skills as well as improving their proficiency in precedent application to identified legal issues.
Dr Nwogu noted that state government had sponsored ‘Training and Workshop for Law Officers in July on ``Justice Delivery in Anambra State’’.
``Government also sponsored all law officers to attend 2019 National Bar Conference held in Lagos, in which 132 lawyers attended the workshop,’’ she added.
Head of Service (HOS), Barr Harry Udu expressed his gratitude to Gov. Willie Obiano for approving the workshops through office of the Attorney- General.
He, then, urged the lawyers to make their services available by ensuring that they use the opportunity to achieve the desired objective.
The Dean Chinua Asuzu ``The Write House’’ based in Lagos, in his paper presentation entitled: ``Brief Writing Master Class’ was all about legal argument that lawyers write on behalf of their clients.
He spoke extensively on what the ‘Brief’ was all about, types of brief, issues and introduction, facts procedural history, the argument organisation, posture and structure, argument rebuttal and refutation, argument citations and quotations. (MOI)
