Awka, Oct. 8, 2019 (MOI) Anambra State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (AACCIMA) will be supported to turn the upcoming Anambra State Trade Fair into an international event, Information Commissioner has assured

``I can assure you that I will articulate all your needs in making this to happen, to be forwarded to Gov. Willie Obiano for endorsement,’’ Mr C Don Adinuba, the commissioner said in Awka on Oct. 8.

Adinuba spoke during a courtesy visit to him in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.

According to him members of the association have strong messages to pass on to the public this time.

``You must, therefore, ensure that you involve all relevant Ministries, Parastatal and Agencies for overall success of the fair.

``Anambra state has always been a hub for commerce and industry in Nigeria and indeed West Africa. It is now new home for Agriculture and Indigenous technology.

``There is just nothing that you bring into Anambra State that will not find market with 24 hours.

``The state now boasts of four best state-of-art milling facilities in the country, especially with the latest addition of Coscharis Rice Mills at Igbariam that was unveiled just a week ago.

The others are the Josan Mills, Umumbo, Udemezue (Omor) and Stine (Amichi).

``The quality of the products of these mills is comparable to the imported brands of rice.

``In addition, Stine mills has been behind the milling of Lake Rice, a popular brand in Lagos, which is from a farm jointly owned by Lagos and Kebbi states,’’ commissioner said.

``In addition to rice, you have Innoson brand of vehicles, manufactured in Anambra to popularise, as well as to sell even to other countries.

``You, therefore, have a lot in Anambra that you need to use opportunity offered by the fair to market to the rest of Nigeria and West Africa.’’

``On top of these, the Anambra State Governor seeks to raise the bar on security, as the state sets to launch a new phase of security in Anambra, branded `New Operation Kpochapu’ to further secure the state.’’

Adinuba notes: ``Anambra does not want to relinquish its current enviable position as the `safest state’ in the country’’.

Earlier, President Awka Chamber of Commerce, Pastor Steve Nduagauba said that they want Anambra trade fair to be an International fair just like that of Enugu.

``With active involvement of your Ministry, this will be something that we can achieve within shortest possible time.

``And so, we are asking for your full support so that this coming trade fair will be more robust whatever we have had in the past,’’ Nduagauba said.

He announced that the 2019 trade fair has a theme: ``Partnering With Government  And The Organised Private Sector For Economic Advancement And Job Creation’’.

The fair holds from Nov. 25 to Dec. 5 at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Anambra State. (MOI)
