ANAMBRA GOVERNMENT HONOURS OUTSTANDING 2016 CORPS MEMBERS

Awka South, July 11, 2018 (MOI) Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has honoured 11 corps members from 2016 Batch ‘B’ National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with merit award for outstanding performance during their service year.
The awardees were selected based on their individual community development projects executed in their various places of primary assignment in the state.
Presenting the awards in Awka, the Governor, who represented by the Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, Mr Bonaventure Enemali commended the winners for their selflessness and commitment to National development.
Enemali urged them to continue to make worthy contributions to nation-building.
``Distinguish yourselves wherever you find yourselves as the reward for hard work is more work with much expectations,’’ Enemali said
In a remark, the State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, Mr Aremu Kehinde commended the governor for celebrating and empowering young Nigerians who left their homes to serve in various communities in the state.
``Anambra is one of the few states in Nigeria that has augmented the feeding of corps members posted to the state,’’ Aremu said
He, however, urged corps members to take their NYSC programmes seriously as assessment started from the camping site.
Thomas Effiong, the overall best corps member, who spoke on behalf of the awardees commended Gov. Obiano rallying all members who distinguished themselves for the rewarded.
He prayed God to continue to bless him.
