Coronavirus: Anambra fumigates Ochanja Central Market

Fegge (Onitsha South LGA), April 9, 2020 (MOI) Anambra State Government has carried out a fumigation exercise at the Ochanja Central Market as part of measures to prevent spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The exercise was in line with `Detection, Prevention and Protection’ plan of Anambra State COVID-19 Action Committee to stem spread of the virus.
President, Ochanja Market Association, Mr Nelson Ojukwu said that adequate measures had been installed put to ensure that every shop was disinfected against the virus and other diseases.
Mr Ojukwu said this during an interview with state Information Officers who were monitoring compliance with government directives on the fumigation at the Ochanja Market, Onitsha.
Ojukwu urged Ndi Anambra to do their part by observing recommended personal hygiene practices as he asked God to look upon all with mercy and bring the situation to an end in the shortest possible time.
Leader of the fumigation team, Mr Chibueze Onwuegbusi said that the fumigation exercise was a welcome development aimed at eradicating germs spreading diseases in the market.
He pleaded with every market and shop owners to ensure that bacteria and diseases would not be provided rooms to multiply in the state.
Chairman, Seed Dealers Association of the market, Mr Peter Ugwuonu said that the stay at home order had helped in the war against spread of the pandemic. (MOI)
