A NEW CHAIRMAN TAKES OVER ANAMBRA EAST AS FORMER HANDS OVER

Otuocha (Anambra East LGA), June 29, 2019 (MOI) Incoming Transition Committee Chairman, Anambra East Local Government Area (LGA), Mr Obiora Nweke has assured workers in the LG that he will be `work-friendly chairman for all’.
Nweke said this while addressing staff of Anambra East LGA on June 27 at the Secretariat Hall at Otuocha.
He said his main aim was to make the work of Gov. Willie Obiano to come through in Anambra East.
Nweke assured them that he would ensure that whatever would be due to them would get to them.
He thanked his predecessor, Mr Pius Ifeadi for good works he had done in the area including renovation of all offices, renovation of LG Hall, Igwe In-Council Hall and beautification of the secretariat.
Nweke promised to improve on the jobs done by his predecessor and pleaded for support from workers during his tenure.
Head, LG Administration, Mr Kenneth Nwosu, thanked the incoming chairman and promised him support.
He also assured the chairman that the workers would always come to work regularly.
Outgoing chairman, Ifeadi thanked the people of Anambra East for their support throughout his tenure.
He pleaded with them to give the incoming chairman their support to enable him to succeed.
Ifeadi pointed out that he left some legacies during his time, and urged the incoming chairman to improve on them in the interest of Ndi Anambra East.
He urged the new chairman to feel free to always call on him if he required futher explanation on any issue.
The former chairman, however, asked for forgiveness, if offended anyone during his tenure.
The local APGA Chairman in the area, Chief Emeka Ekwealor thanked the outgoing chairman for all his works in the area and prayed God to bless him and his family.
Chief Ekwealor welcomed the incoming chairman, asking God's wisdom for him and his team to enable them to do more to improve the LGA.
Chairman, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), in the area, Sir Victor Udealor on behalf of staff thanked Nweke and promised to work with him.
The staff of Anambra East went into spontaneous
jubilation soon after Nweke took over leadership of the LGA. (MOI)
